When do you recognise Jesus? Inspired by The Odyssey Film

This week I unexpectedly found myself watching The Odyssey. The moment that stayed with me wasn’t the battle scenes—it was the moment Penelope finally recognised Odysseus.

That scene made me look at the Emmaus Road in a completely new way.

In Luke 24, two disciples walk with Jesus for miles without recognising Him. The question isn’t whether Jesus is present—He already is. The real question is:

When will they recognise Him?

In this message we explore three clues that reveal the risen Christ:

• The way He came alongside them
• The way He opened the Scriptures
• The way He broke the bread

Perhaps you’re walking your own Emmaus road today. If so, this message is an invitation to look again for the risen Christ who walks beside us, often before we even realise He is there.
